it happened somewhere between the walk home and the half hour i spent sitting on the counter, taking small sips of simply. it happened at some point during our conversation, after it had turned from the usual salutations and the added birthday greeting to something deeper. it was in those moments that i realized how blessed i am to have her in my life. i've always wanted to be like her, and even more so now.
